A source told the Deir Ezzor 24 that on Sunday evening, Daesh ambushed a Russian backed militias’ convoy on the Ithiria highway in the countryside of al-Salamiyah in the Hama governorate.
The source added that the convoy is made up of 40 vehicles, including diesel tankers. The convoy was heading to al-Raqqa then to Deir Ezzor. 13 bombs on the highway blew the convoy before Daesh attacked it. The attack caused the Russian forces in Deir Ezzor to raise the alert, as warplanes took off from the Deir Ezzor military base to the location of the ambush.
The casualties of the convoy due to the attack is still unknown.
