Recently, groups of Deir Ezzor residents found many minefields spread across different areas of the Deir Ezzor desert, according to a Deir Ezzor 24 Network reporter.
Our reporter said that some of the minefields that were found were in the areas of (Al-Faka, Nazra, the outskirts of the Al-Bishri desert the Maadan desert) and other fields deep in the desert.
The residents of the region accuse the Assad regime and the Iranian-backed militias of targeting the “Al-Bu Hamad” and “Al-Bu Saraya” tribes for their refusal to convert to Shiism,
given the amount of mines planted in the desert adjacent to their areas, and those mines have not targeted any ISIS member so far and all the victims are civilians.
It is worth noting that removing those mines is a risky task through initiatives by people who do not have experience in eliminating mines, risking their lives to collect the mines so that they do not explode on others.
The people of Deir Ezzor countryside appeal to international organizations and specialized teams to intervene as quickly as possible to deal with the mines and remove them.
