The Revolutionary Guard militia began digging tunnels in the town of Salhiya in the western countryside of Albukamal, under Iranian supervision and manual equipment, according to what a DeirEzzor24 network local reporter.
Our reporter that these tunnels will connect the sites and headquarters of the Iranian-backed militias, in addition to others linking the city to the desert, which is a new defensive measure taken by the militias after digging individual trenches within the guard points.
It is noteworthy that tunnel networks were previously used in the region during the control of ISIS between the neighborhoods and the chain of heights overlooking the cities.
