Al-Swai’h Bridge is out of service in Albukamal Calls to accelerate its rehabilitation

The Al-Swai’h Bridge in the city of Albukamal in the Deir Ezzor countryside is still out of service, despite its vital importance in linking Syria to Iraq through the Al-Qa’im border crossing, and securing commercial and civil transit between the two sides.

Residents and local activists are calling on the concerned authorities, most notably the Transport Directorate and Deir Ezzor Governorate, to expedite finding solutions to rehabilitate the bridge, conduct the necessary technical studies and begin maintenance work, especially with the approach of winter and the additional difficulties that may accompany it in movement.

Residents confirm that the continued disruption of the bridge negatively affects the movement of trade, the transport of goods, and the movement of citizens, in addition to its impact on economic activity in the city of Albukamal and its surroundings.
