The General Establishment for Drinking Water in **Deir Ezzor *, in cooperation with UNICEF, has begun implementing a new project to rehabilitate and replace water networks in several areas of the governorate.
Haya Kadro, from the project supervision body, told SANA that the works cover a number of neighborhoods and towns in Deir Ezzor Al-Quriyah and Al-Mayadin. These include the Al-Qusour and Harabish neighborhoods, Al-Radisat Street, Al-Jahiziyah Housing, Dar Al-Shifa Hospital Street, al-Baloum Street, as well as the **Al-Aridi* area in the city of al-Quriyah
The Director of Investment and Maintenance at the establishment, Abdul Munem Al-Abdullah, explained that the project was launched in response to the deterioration of old water networks, particularly iron pipelines that have suffered corrosion over recent years, negatively affecting water supply efficiency. He noted that *polyethylene pipelines have been adopted as a replacement due to their durability and ability to meet current and future needs.
Al-Abdullah confirmed that the establishment has continued maintenance and rehabilitation work since the liberation of Syria, as part of its plans to develop infrastructure and improve basic services, contributing to community stability and the provision of essential living needs.
