The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with UNICEF, began implementing a project to rehabilitate the drinking water station in the town of Al-Tabiya in the Al-Jazira area in the governorate’s countryside, as part of efforts aimed at improving drinking water services and enhancing their sustainability.
The project benefits approximately 20,000 people, and its implementation period extends to six months. It includes a comprehensive package of rehabilitation and technical equipment.
The works include the installation of two pumping sets for 180 cubic meters per hour of untreated water and a 25-meter lift, and two pumping sets for 160 cubic meters per hour of treated water and an 80-meter lift. They also include the maintenance of the treated water tank and the concrete sedimentation basin, the implementation of mechanical and electrical works, and the installation of a feed transformer.
The project also includes installing chlorination and alum injection systems, implementing a filter washing system, replacing valves and pipes of different diameters, providing operation and maintenance materials, in addition to cleaning and rehabilitating the high tank with a capacity of 100 cubic meters with insulation, sterilization and inspection work.
The works also include maintaining and replacing pipes, valves and mechanical equipment, extending water lines of different lengths and diameters, and installing a solar energy system, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the station, ensuring its continuity of operation, and improving the quality of drinking water for beneficiaries.
