Residents of Al-Hamdan village in Al-Bukamal countryside appeal to secure drinking water and put an end to their suffering

The residents of Al-Hamdan village, affiliated with the town of Al-Sukkariyah in the countryside of Al-Bukamal in Deir Ezzor Governorate, suffer from the continued interruption and lack of access to drinking water in their homes, which forces them to buy water and transport it by tankers, amid the rise in its prices and the increasing burdens of living on the residents.

The residents explained that their suffering continues despite repeated appeals to the relevant authorities in the city of Albukamal, stressing that their demands have not received the required response so far.

The villagers raise questions about their continued deprivation of drinking water, especially since their village is only about a thousand meters away from the Euphrates River, considering that providing drinking water is a basic right and an indispensable life necessity.

The residents of Al-Hamdan village appealed to the Deir Ezzor Water Corporation and the relevant authorities in the governorate to intervene urgently and work to find a solution to the water problem, and to deliver drinking water to the village homes, which would put an end to their daily suffering while buying water from tanks.

The residents hope that their appeal will receive an urgent response, and that practical and rapid steps will be taken to address the drinking water problem and provide it on an ongoing basis to the village residents.
