Water unit employees in the southern districts of Hasakah, especially in the city of Al-Shaddadi, are facing difficult living conditions due to the delay in disbursing their salaries and financial dues for about eight months, despite their continued performance of their duties in operating pumping stations and providing drinking water to residents.

Water unit workers said that hundreds of employees did not receive their salaries during this period, which directly affected their living conditions and their ability to secure the basic needs of their families, in light of rising prices and declining purchasing power.

Employees pointed out that the continued delay in salaries increases the pressure on workers in the water and sanitation sector, and threatens the job stability of cadres who continue to work in vital facilities that are directly related to the lives of residents and basic services.

The workers called on the concerned authorities to expedite the processing of the salaries file and the disbursement of late dues, explaining the reasons for the delay and establishing a mechanism to ensure the regularity of salary payments in the future, in a way that preserves the rights of employees and ensures the continuity of water services in the area.
