The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund «UNICEF», began work to rehabilitate the drinking water station and replace parts of the supply network in the town of Al-Tawateha in the western countryside of Albukamal, with the aim of improving access to drinking water for about 9 thousand people.

The works include the rehabilitation of metal filters, chlorination and alum injection systems, maintenance of the clear water tank and the sedimentation basin, in addition to carrying out electrical and mechanical works to raise the efficiency of the station and improve the reliability of its work.

The water network lines are also being replaced by extending a 6-inch diameter, 125-meter-long polyethylene line and a 4-inch diameter, 900-meter-long line, which will contribute to enhancing the reliability of the network and improving the continuity of services provided to residents.

The project implementation work will continue for six months, with its outputs contributing to improving the drinking water situation and raising the efficiency of the supply system in the town.
