The Raqqa Health Directorate, represented by the Drug Control Department, in cooperation with the Pharmacists Syndicate and the judicial authorities in the governorate, carried out a wide inspection campaign that included the city of Raqqa and its countryside, with the aim of controlling violations and organizing pharmaceutical work in accordance with approved regulations and instructions.
The campaign resulted in the organization of more than 200 legal seizures against establishments and violators, in addition to the closure of more than 20 unlicensed pharmacies that were run by people who were not qualified to practice the profession.
The inspection committees explained that the most prominent violations that were monitored were the absence of the pharmacist responsible for some pharmacies, and failure to adhere to the technical and health conditions for preserving and storing medicines, in a way that guarantees their safety and quality.
Regulatory teams were also able to seize and confiscate quantities of counterfeit, smuggled, and withdrawn medicines from circulation, and took legal action against violators, in addition to intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure compliance with the official pricing issued by the Ministry of Health.
The Health Directorate confirmed the continuation of its periodic monitoring campaigns in various areas of the governorate, with the aim of protecting public health and ensuring the provision of pharmaceutical services in accordance with approved professional and legal standards.
