Teams of the National Authority for Missing Persons, in coordination with the competent authorities, responded to two reports about the presence of human remains in the Rusafa neighborhood in the city of Deir Ezzor, and in the Al-Kashma desert in the eastern countryside of the governorate.
Specialized teams conducted documentation, collection, and recovery work at the two sites, in accordance with approved protocols and professional standards, ensuring the protection of evidence and preserving the dignity of victims.
The Authority confirmed the continuation of work in coordination with the relevant authorities, within the framework of efforts aimed at revealing the fate of missing persons, providing justice to their families, and preserving their right to know the truth.
The Authority called on residents not to approach or tamper with sites suspected of containing mass graves, as this may have an impact on documentation and detection processes, and to immediately report any suspicious information or sites through approved official channels.
