In recent times, local investments have begun to reappear in Deir Ezzor, restoring some of the city’s former charm and encouraging the return of displaced persons and expatriates, according to observations by the DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter reported that over the past few days, the city has witnessed the launch of dozens of investment projects initiated by local youth, supported by facilitations from the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
Among these projects, parts of damaged public parks have been allocated to investors, provided that they fully renovate and restore the areas.
One notable example is the reopening of Al-Mudallaji Park after comprehensive restoration carried out by investors, who were permitted to use a portion of the park to open a small café offering reasonably priced services to the public.
Abdullah Al-Ahmad, one of the park workers, confirmed that the entire park had been renovated—lighting had been restored, benches and entrances had been repaired—before a section was designated for the café, following approval from the governorate.
Additionally, the Pullman Garage Hotel was recently opened to serve dozens of students and employees arriving in Deir Ezzor from other cities, offering 24-hour stays at symbolic prices compared to other facilities, according to Mouayad Al-Nahar, one of the hotel’s guests.
In Al-Jbeileh neighborhood, several restaurants have been opened, each providing job opportunities for around 30 young people within the Jbeileh market. These projects are owned by returnees who had previously been displaced from the city.
Moreover, a recent cleaning and rehabilitation campaign carried out by the Directorate of Technical Services and Civil Defense along the Corniche Road has encouraged several new investments in the area, many of which have recently begun preparations and operations.
