Internal transportation minibuses in the city of Hasakah continue their strike for the second day in a row, in protest against the cancellation of subsidized diesel, which caused a decline in transportation within the city and increased the suffering of residents, especially employees and university students.
A large number of citizens were forced to rely on rent cars and taxis to reach their destinations, amid transportation fares rising beyond the capacity of a large segment of the population, at a time when some streets and parking lots are witnessing congestion due to the lack of public transportation.
Drivers are demanding that they be resupplied with subsidized diesel, stressing that rising fuel costs directly affect their ability to continue working and the transportation costs borne by citizens.
As the strike continues, demands are increasing to find a quick solution that restores internal transportation to the city and reduces the living and transportation burdens on the people, especially students and employees who depend mainly on the minibuses for their daily transportation.
