The second convoy of displaced people from Ras Al Ain leaves the Vanguard camp towards their areas

Today, Tuesday, the second convoy of displaced people from the city of Ras al-Ain and its countryside left the “Vanguards” camp on the outskirts of the city of Hasakah, heading to its areas, as part of new arrangements aimed at returning families who were displaced from the area years ago.

The convoy included 689 families living in Vanguard camp, where the departure process began this morning, amid security and medical preparations to secure the returnees’ journey and ensure their arrival to their areas.

This batch comes after the temporary suspension of the return of the displaced, following tensions that accompanied the first batch that left the Hasakah camps towards Ras al-Ain on August 10, and the subsequent quarrels, protests and attacks in a number of areas of Hasakah Governorate.

According to the approved return mechanism, the convoys are scheduled to leave every three days, as part of a plan to return the displaced people of Ras al-Ain residing in the camps of Hasakah Governorate to their cities and villages.

The return of the second batch came after mine clearance operations were carried out in the areas supposed to receive the returnees, while the Internal Security Forces in Ras Al Ain are responsible for securing the families after their arrival.

The Internal Security Forces in Ras Al Ain District mobilized their cadres and mechanisms to secure the convoy coming from the Hasakah camps, in addition to providing the necessary security and medical facilities, which contributes to ensuring that families reach their villages and areas safely.
