Vegetable prices increased significantly in al-Hal market in Deir Ezzor as the production of Deir Ezzor and surrounding provinces is being exported to Iraq through al-Bukamal border crossing, through which dozens of vegetable trucks pass every day.
Due to exporting products, prices rise in the region at a time the city is experiencing a very difficult economic and living situation, in addition to the lack of job opportunities and low wages.
Al-Bukamal border crossing is one of the four border crossings between Syria and Iraq. It is located between the Syrian city of Al-Bukamal in Deir Ezzor province, and the Iraqi city of Al-Qaim in Anbar province, and it is controlled by Iranian and Assad militias.
