Prices of materials scored a remarkable increase amidst shortage of major goods like sugar, oil, tea, and flour in the city of al-Bukamal. The increase is attributed to practices of the Assad forces 4th Division that prevents the entering of materials to the markets and impose fines on traders and vehicles.

Materials and goods that the people need are smuggled to Iraq through the gate of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) militia that Iranian militias opened in al-Bukamal. Sources noted that smuggling is done through land outlets in al-Bukamal the Iranian militias opened with the Iraqi PMF despite residents’ poor life and economic conditions.
