The criminal security branch in Deir Ezzor arrested most of the agricultural associations’ heads after they were summoned to the branch on Sunday June 19, on charges of short-delivering of grains, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
Our correspondent added that before the arrest, a meeting was held with the attendance of governor Fadhil Najjar, president of the farmers’ union “Khazzan al-Sahou”, public defender, police chief Brig. Gen. Bilal Mahmoud, and members of the branch leadership of the agricultural office “Jadaan al-Saleh” and “Omar al-Salama”. The meeting concluded that management boards of associations must be hold accountable, for the short-delivering of grains, and farmers selling their crops on the black market without control, which led to the arrest of the heads of associations.
