The city of Deir Ezzor witnessed a festive public event on Wednesday evening at the Al-Sabaa Bahrat Roundabout, marking the official launch of the Syrian Arab Republic’s new visual identity.
Organized by the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the celebration drew a large crowd of local residents, alongside government officials, and was held in a lively atmosphere that began at 8:30 p.m. The event featured visual elements inspired by the new identity, as well as heightened security measures to ensure smooth proceedings and public safety.
According to DeirEzzor24, the square was decorated with light displays and color schemes aligned with the design of the new official emblem, which symbolizes unity and renewal. The coordinated visuals created a unified aesthetic that drew the attention of attendees and enhanced the celebratory mood.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm by taking photos and sharing reactions, with many describing the launch as a symbol of national pride and optimism.
Emergency and civil defense teams were deployed in the vicinity of the event, in coordination with local authorities, to maintain safety. Syrian state media, including the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), confirmed the measures and reported broad engagement from the public.
In a speech delivered during the ceremony, Governor Ghassan al-Sayed Ahmad emphasized that the new visual identity represents Syria’s unity and cultural diversity. He described the project as the beginning of a new chapter aimed at reinforcing national belonging and modernizing the state’s image.
The visual identity launch is part of a broader governmental initiative to revamp the appearance of public institutions. The plan includes redesigning the official state emblem, currency, printed materials, and public signage, with the goal of presenting a contemporary and cohesive image of the Syrian state after years of turmoil.
Similar launch events were held simultaneously in other governorates, including Damascus, Aleppo, Suwayda, and Latakia, in a synchronized nationwide rollout. This coordinated effort was portrayed by state media as a unifying national moment.
The event, documented by DeirEzzor24 through reports and visual coverage, was seen as a notable milestone in the country’s symbolic and public communication efforts. Observers highlighted its significance in promoting a collective identity that spans from Deir Ezzor to the rest of Syria’s major cities.
