A number of contract teachers in Al-Hasakah Governorate organized a protest in front of the Education Directorate building, demanding that they be permanently appointed and that their overdue financial dues be paid, in light of increasing dissatisfaction with the deterioration of their living conditions.
The protesters raised banners expressing their demands, stressing that their continued work on temporary contracts threatens their job stability and negatively affects the educational process, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions witnessed by the area.
The participants pointed out that they were unable to meet any official in the Education Directorate during the protest, which increased their state of frustration, calling on the concerned authorities to intervene urgently to respond to their demands and develop radical solutions that guarantee their professional and living rights.
This protest comes as part of a series of movements carried out by contract teachers in a number of Syrian districts, to demand improving their job conditions and ensuring professional stability.
