Colonel Darar Al-Shamlan, head of internal security in Deir Ezzor Governorate, announced the conclusion of a major security operation in the city of Al-Bukamal and its surrounding areas.
According to Al-Shamlan, the operation—carried out early yesterday—targeted individuals involved in a range of criminal activities. The crackdown led to the arrest of more than 50 suspects on charges including illegal arms possession and trafficking, drug distribution, and endangering public safety.
Among those detained were individuals linked to the Iran-backed Revolutionary Guard militia, further highlighting the operation’s scope.
Al-Shamlan reaffirmed that internal security centers in Al-Bukamal remain open 24/7 to receive public complaints and reports. He stressed that the campaign is part of a broader, ongoing effort to restore and maintain security in the region, conducted in close cooperation with local residents.
