The Central Authority for Inspection and Control carried out a surprise audit on Thursday at two key medical institutions in Deir Ezzor— the National Hospital and Al-Huwaidi Hospital — to evaluate the quality of medical services, administrative operations, and the presence of on-duty medical staff.
During the visit to the National Hospital, inspectors toured all major departments, including Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Anesthesia, Operating Rooms, Orthopedics, Neurology, and Surgery. The engineering office and general services department were also inspected.
Officials reviewed emergency services, verified staff attendance records, and cross-checked on-duty personnel names against official schedules. The team documented the presence of medical staff across departments and recorded observations on the state of operations and equipment.
At Al-Huwaidi Hospital, the audit focused on Emergency, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Radiology, Laboratory, and Pharmacy units. Attendance was also verified and discrepancies noted.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of the evening general supervisor and the attendance monitor. A comprehensive report is expected to follow, detailing key observations, recommendations, and proposals aimed at addressing deficiencies and enhancing the quality of healthcare services in the governorate.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and improved healthcare delivery in public medical institutions across Syria.
