The Director of Health in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Dr. Khaled Al-Khaled, announced the arrival of a new shipment of medicines and medical supplies, provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as part of supporting the health sector and meeting the needs of the growing population in the governorate.
Al-Khaled explained that the shipment includes essential medicines specifically designed to treat chronic diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, in addition to medicines for children and emergency medical supplies used in emergency cases.
He pointed out that the distribution of these supplies will be carried out according to a well-thought-out plan that includes various health centers and hospitals in the Hasakah areas, with priority given to areas with high population density and facilities suffering from a shortage of medicines.
In the same context, the diabetes clinic in the city of Qamishli was provided with a new batch of diabetes medications, which included mixed insulin, 500 mg tablets “metformin”, and 60 mg tablets “glyclazide”, in addition to insulin injections.
He also pointed out the availability of rapid insulin in the form of pens, in addition to long-acting insulin, ensuring that patients’ needs are met on an ongoing basis.
The Health Directorate confirmed that all medicines provided are available completely free of charge, as the health center is located in the city of Qamishli, neighborhood “Al-Arbawiya”, east of roundabout “Sevan”, and receives patients according to approved procedures
