Gradual increase of the amount of water passing through the Kdiran Dam and warnings to the residents of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor

The Euphrates Dam Corporation announced the start of gradually and thoughtfully increasing the amount of water passing through the Kdiran Dam, as a result of the continued increase in the amount of water coming through the Euphrates River from the Turkish side.

The corporation explained that the amount of water passed will reach 1,100 cubic meters per second on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, to be raised a week later to 1,200 cubic meters per second.

According to the corporation, the pass will continue at the level of 1,200 cubic meters per second until mid-October, after which the water situation will be re-evaluated based on developments in water imports and lake levels, in addition to technical and operational data.

The Foundation confirmed that its technical and engineering cadres follow up around the clock on the quantities of incoming water and lake levels, in coordination with the Ministry of Emergencies and Disaster Management and emergency rooms in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor governorates.

In a related context, the Foundation called on the people of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor governorates, especially those living near the Euphrates River, to exercise more caution and stay away from the river, stressing the need not to swim in it, and to be careful when using the temporary bridges built over the Euphrates River, to preserve public safety.
