In a move aimed at enhancing health services provided to patients with kidney failure, the Organization «IMC» provided medical support to the National Hospital in Raqqa Governorate, which included the supply of basic medical equipment and supplies, in addition to materials and supplies designated for the dialysis department, sufficient to conduct about 10,500 treatment sessions.
This support comes in light of the efforts made to develop the status of medical services in the governorate, and to raise the readiness of the National Hospital to meet the increasing health needs, especially in the kidney department, which provides its services to about 400 patients from the city of Raqqa and its countryside, by providing regular dialysis sessions.
The dialysis department is considered one of the vital departments in the hospital, given the importance of the services it provides to patients with kidney failure, as efforts continue to enhance its capabilities by providing it with modern equipment, developing the medical infrastructure, and working to train and qualify personnel in a way that contributes to improving the quality and continuity of health care.
Last January, the Ministry of Health provided the Kidney Department at the National Hospital in Raqqa with 20 new dialysis machines «Frizinius», as part of supporting the department’s capabilities, expanding its treatment capabilities, and improving the level of services provided to patients.
Integrating the support provided by humanitarian organizations with the equipment provided by health authorities would contribute to enhancing the continuity of the work of the kidney department and reducing the burdens associated with securing washing session supplies, which would reflect positively on the reality of health care provided to patients with kidney failure in Raqqa and its countryside.
