This morning, Raqqa Governorate began maintenance work on Al-Mansour Bridge (the old bridge), which connects the two banks of the Euphrates River between the Al-Shamiya and Al-Jazira areas.
The bridge is considered one of the most important bridges in the city of Raqqa, as it connects the city bank to the southern countryside, and it is one of the two main bridges over the Euphrates River within the city.
The SDF militia had blown up the bridges linking the two banks of the Euphrates River before they left Raqqa Governorate, which led to it being out of service and exacerbating the people’s suffering in moving around.
The Technical Services Directorate in Raqqa has begun carrying out maintenance work, which will continue for a full month, with the aim of completely rehabilitating the bridge and ensuring its safety.
Maintenance work is scheduled to be completed later by moving directly to the maintenance of Al-Rashid Bridge (the new bridge), located south of Raqqa city center, as part of the governorate’s plan to rehabilitate vital infrastructure.
