In a step towards the reconstruction of Deir Ezzor city, which has suffered extensive destruction over the past years, a team from the Syrian Scientific Council, led by Dr. Samer Karam, conducted a field training to assess the scale of the damage in the city’s neighborhoods.
A correspondent from Deir Ezzor 24 network reported that the aim of this training, which included a number of trainees from the University of Al-Furat, was to assist the team in evaluating the damage to the city’s infrastructure and public facilities.
The correspondent added that the training involved using an advanced site surveying device, specifically a 3D laser scanning device, which collects precise data about the affected areas.
He further explained that the use of this advanced device aimed to create a detailed and comprehensive database, which could be utilized in future reconstruction efforts. This would help in developing a strategic plan based on accurate information, contributing to the acceleration of the rebuilding process and ensuring sustainability.
At the conclusion of the training, Dr. Samer Karam emphasized the importance of this type of training, noting that providing reliable field data is a crucial step in restoring life to the city once again. He added that the team will continue to work with the relevant authorities to develop these initiatives, which aim to improve the general situation in Deir Ezzor and ensure its bright future.
