Last week, USA forces were seen while dismantling landmines nearby the Mashadani hospital and in the Tawassuiyah neighbourhod and at the Jawad park. Local sources indicated to Raqqa24 that the US engineering unites were seen collecting the dismantled mines in the streets, which were transported later by some vehicles. This coincides with the fact that civilians are being prevented from entering those areas, as well as the roads leading to the old bridge inside the city because it is being renovated.

Although Daesh has been driven out of most villages and towns in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, civilians are still facing the danger of the landmines which the organization planted in the area before retreating. Most civilians who recently returned to their homes in the towns of Abu Hamam, Kashkiyah and Granij were either killed and wounded in explosion of mines. About 15 civilians were killed.

The organization booby-trapped everything, including houses, commercial shops, mosques, house furniture and pones.
