The United Nations has condemned the recent attack on its humanitarian convoy y in Syria without referring to the perpetrator.
The convoy was on a humanitarian mission in northeastern Syria, mainly in areas extending from the Shaheel town to Al-Bassirah city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. One stuff of the envoy, a Syrian, was wounded and is now receiving medical treatment.
The envoy was trying to identify the needs of the local populations in the region where fighting against Daesh continue.
The statement which was released by the UN Office in Damascus has described the attack as a blatant violation of the international law and that it hinders the performance of the UN staff. It also called on all parties to assume their responsibilities under international law to protect civilians, including the relief mission, describing these attacks as unacceptable at all.
it is noteworthy that the shooting incident, according to the statement , occured on 30/11/2018 in the province of Deir Ezzor.
