Three buses carrying members of the Afghan Fatemiyoun militia arrived in Deir Ezzor yesterday, coming from the city of Homs, according to a DeirEzzor24 network reporter.
A private source told DeirEzzor24 that they will be distributed to points in the Salhiya desert and clans in the western Albukamal countryside, and they will also be assigned to points in the Al-Hari desert in the eastern Al-Bukamal countryside.
He added that the Iranian-backed militia leadership returned members of the Pakistani Zainabiyoun militia to their previous positions inside Albukamal to pave the way for handing them over points on the Euphrates River opposite the SDF areas instead of the 17th Division forces and handing them over the laundry headquarters near the Al-Bukamal-Baghouz bridge.
These changes in locations and headquarters, and the attraction of new elements from outside the governorate, to Deir Ezzor, come due to the Iranian-backed militias’ fear of an increase in Daesh activity in the region.
