SDF campaigns of forced conscription are still ongoing in Al-Raqqa province. They have established checkpoints on all roads leading to the city from different area. According to sources in Al-Raqqa, the number of forced recruits has reached more than 1000 youths, most of whom are locals from the northern and western countryside. The campaigns have forced many young males to flee SDF-held areas to Euphrates Sheild-controlled territory. SDF brokers are exploiting the locals by asking them to pay 1500 to 50000 USD in order to exempt their sons from forced conscription. The exemption centers are located in Ain Al-Arab city, which also consist of members from the Asayesh.
