Engineer “Obaida Alaa El-Din Katea”, General Manager of the “Al-Taym” facility, confirmed that there is a study with a Turkish-Qatari delegation to establish a new thermal power plant in Deir Ezzor, called “Deir Ezzor 750 MW Power Plant”.

“Saddam Hussein”, who is responsible for the building maintenance department at the Al-Taym facility, stated that the old station consists of three turbines that produce electricity to supply the city with energy currently. He confirmed that they are currently working with the Civil Defense to rehabilitate the field’s infrastructure, including removing and transporting rubble, and the mechanical building, which is considered a mini-industrial city where the necessary parts for the gas turbines are maintained, will be rebuilt.

It is noteworthy that Deir Ezzor Governorate has been suffering from a shortage in electricity since 2012, and it stopped completely from 2014 until 2018.
