Deir Ezzor Governor Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmad met with a delegation from the international company UCC to discuss plans for constructing two new power plants—one solar and one thermal—in the Al-Taym area south of the province.
The meeting took place at the Al-Taym Energy Facility, where the governor and the delegation toured the designated construction sites. The company has officially received the land, with work expected to begin soon.
Governor Ahmad emphasized the importance of hiring local workers for the project, which is expected to create approximately 1,500 job opportunities. He also stressed the need to invest in local talent and train new personnel to contribute to the construction and operation of the plants.
The initiative marks a significant step toward boosting Deir Ezzor’s energy infrastructure and supporting the region’s economic recovery.
