The Russian and Assad aircraft continue to massacre civilians in the countryside of Deir Ezzor by targeting residential areas, river crossings and camps for internally displaced persons. The airstrikes have killed more than 100 civilians in the past four days.
The death toll from the massacre, which was carried out by the Russian aircraft in the camp for internally displaced persons in the Shaafah village in eastern Deir Ezzour, has risen to more than 50 victims.
The same aircraft had already targeted another camp for internally displaced persons in the Sayal village, killing 25 civilians and wounding dozens of others.
The targeted camps were established by civilians on the outskirts of Al-Bukamal following the start of the fighting between Daesh and Assad’s forces in the region.
18 civilians from Deir Ezzour city were killed after they walked through a minefield nearby the Abu Khashab village in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Yesterday, 10 civilians were killed in airstrikes by the Assad regime that targeted the Buqaan river crossing. In addition, three civilians died when the boat transporting them to the western bank of the river sank off.
The massacres are occurring because civilians are fleeing from advancing Assad’s forces in the countryside of Deir Ezzour.
In other news, Daesh now controls villages along the western bank of the river, including Al Salhiya, Al Mujawdah, Al Jalaa, Hassrat, Al Sayal, Al Buqqan, Al Ghabra, Al Aaba, Al Tawaha, and parts of the city of Al Asharah.
