Dozens of families of Iranian and Iraqi militias have recently arrived in Deir Ezzor province. They have settled in an area near the old market in the center of Al-Mayadeen and near the Bassri office in the same city. Furthermore, more Iraqi and Iranian families arrived in Al-Bukamal and settled in its center.
The Iranian militias recently confiscated many houses from civilians fleeing the war in Deir Ezzor. They are now settling the families of Shiite fighters in them as a part of a project aimed at changing the demography of the province.
