Over the past two days, there has been a wave of popular discontent in the areas of the Syrian democratic forces (SDF). People expressed their discontent on social media, held demonstrations and sit-ins, closed markets and blocked roads following the issuance of decision 119, which included the increase of fuel prices by more than 300 percent in the SDF-controlled areas at a time people are suffering from difficult economic conditions, especially with the lockdowns that have been imposed by the autonomous administration from the beginning of April until a few days ago, in addition to the drought that has almost completely affected the agricultural crops of the year.
