A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that the Russian forces have tasked military commanders and elders from Deir Ezzor with the mission of attracting and recruiting young men to fight for the Russian forces in Libya.
Firass al-Jiham (Firass Al-Iraqiyeh), commander of the National Defense Militia in Deir Ezzor, and Muhanna al-Fayyad, a sheikh of Al-Busaraya tribe, were at the top of the list of those adopted by Russia to recruit people of Deir Ezzor to fight in Libya, the source said.
The figures adopted by the Russians met with groups of Deir Ezzor people and tried to convince them that they will be sent to Libya to protect oil installations, not to fight, in exchange for a monthly salary of more than $2,000 for each volunteer, he said.
In the same vein, a source in the national defense militia in Deir Ezzor confirmed that after being dismissed by Firass Jiham, a group of the national defense militia joined the second batch of volunteers to fight for Russia.
The recruited elements were transported through Deir Ezzor military airport to Khmeimim base in Latakia, and were registered at two Russian sites, one at Khmeimim base and the other at Latakia port.
The recruitment of people from Deir Ezzor is led by a Russian general named Vladimir, with the help of local officers, militia commanders and elders.
It is indicated that Deir Ezzor 24 network has published several exclusive media reports on the Russians recruitment of people from Deir Ezzor to fight in Libya, and that the network will continue to highlight this issue
