DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Deir Ezzor 24 network learned from informed sources that members of the Fourth Division, stationed at the Al-Salama checkpoint in Al-Jura neighborhood of Deir Ezzor city, confiscated goods and children clothes, worth about 2 million SYP belonging to owners of small shops in the eastern Euphrates countryside.
The goods were confiscated, on the pretext that they were smuggled from SDF-controlled areas, via river ferries in the western countryside, two days after the confiscation of the money of a Shaitat son named “Mahmoud” at the Al-Baloom checkpoint.
The Fourth Division is responsible for supervising several checkpoints in Deir Ezzor, such as the Panorama Checkpoint at the southern entrance to Deir Ezzor, the “Salama Checkpoint” at the western entrance to the city, Al-Mare’iya Checkpoint on the Deir Ezzor-Mayadin road, and the “Baloom Checkpoint” at the western entrance to the city of Al-Mayadin.
The elements of the checkpoints loot, displace and blackmail the people of the province and its merchants, under the pretext of illegal entry and smuggling, which has negatively impacted the living conditions of the people, as it leads to the increase of prices and the loss of some materials.
