The price of diesel “al-Awik” has scored a remarkable increase in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside, which is controlled by the Assad’ militias. The price reached 2,500 Syrian pounds per liter.
The people attributed the high prices to the scarcity of oil smuggling operations from the Syrian Democratic Forces-controlled areas, in addition to the extortion practiced by the 4th Division at checkpoints, which are located at the entrances to the regions, villages and main roads.
