The Deir Ezzor 24 Network knew that a high-ranking Russian General arrived in the Deir Ezzor governorate coming from the Hmeimim base. The General arrived amidst a campaign of fake rumors about negotiations with the Americans to hand the western Deir Ezzor countryside over to the Russian militias as representative for Assad’s militias.
Assad militias and services spread such rumors among people to terrorize them. The residents of the area fear from the Assad forces’ controlling the area, which predicts potential massacres committed by the militias.
Recently, the Syrian Democratic Forces removed its checkpoints from the area, as the rumors say that handing over the western Deir Ezzor countryside will be done in October.
