The head of internal security in Deir Ezzor, Colonel Dirar Al-Shamlan, announced the launch of a comprehensive security campaign starting from the city of Al-Mayadin, aimed at pursuing remnants of the defunct regime involved in crimes that threaten societal security.
In an official statement, he confirmed that the campaign—carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense—has achieved 85% of the objectives of its first phase. This has resulted in the confiscation of large quantities of weapons and ammunition, the seizure of an aluminum smelting facility, stolen electrical cables, and the arrest of several wanted individuals involved in acts of sabotage, drug trafficking, and those who ignored orders to report to reconciliation centers.
He noted that the campaign will continue in phases to pursue anyone who refuses to surrender their weapons or fails to report to the security authorities and is proven to be involved in crimes that threaten public safety.
It is worth noting that the campaign was launched at dawn today and has led to the arrest of dozens of remnants of the Assad regime, Iran-backed militias, and looters.
