Al-Kanouf Company, in cooperation with the Al-Mayadin Municipal Council, has begun implementing the “Souq Al-Khair” (Market of Goodness) project in the city. This initiative aims to organize commercial activity and improve the services provided to residents, according to a report by a correspondent from DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent stated that the market includes 120 commercial shops, fully equipped with all essential services. The project seeks to provide a comprehensive shopping center that meets citizens’ daily needs in one place, helping to reduce congestion and the disorder typical of traditional markets.
Ghassan Al-Saleh, the Executive Director of Al-Kanouf Company, told Deir Ezzor 24 Network that the market will be supplied with round-the-clock electricity, clean drinking water, and security checkpoints.
He pointed out that the market’s design aligns with modern market standards in developed countries and will help regulate prices, organize commercial activity, and contribute to a more civilized appearance for the city.
Abdul Rahman Al-Houli, one of the workers involved in the construction workshops, mentioned in his interview with DeirEzzor24 that the project has provided job opportunities for young people since its launch and will open the door for more employment once it officially opens.
He added that the market will solve problems like waste accumulation and congestion caused by street vendors, improving the city’s visual landscape.
“Souq Al-Khair” is expected to stimulate economic activity in Al-Mayadin and become a primary shopping destination, positively impacting the standard of living and services. Project organizers stress that this initiative is not just about building a market, it’s an investment in the city’s future and a real opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors toward sustainable prosperity.
