The Directorate of Internal Security in the Al-Mayadin area, in cooperation with Special Task Forces, carried out a targeted raid on a hideout belonging to a gang specializing in the theft of electrical cables in the town of Al-Taybah, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three gang members and the seizure of large quantities of stolen cables, which were duly handed over to the regional electricity company.
Security authorities indicated that the detainees were referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary investigations and uncover the remaining individuals involved in the thefts, which had caused damage to the electrical network and the outage of several power lines.
This operation comes as part of the ongoing efforts by Internal Security to pursue perpetrators of theft crimes and protect public property—particularly infrastructure and essential services for citizens.
