The Assad regime warplanes executed violent air raids today on both, the western and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, causing civilian casualties. One of the areas bombed by the warplanes was the town of Tabanni in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor where at least six civilians were killed. Our correspondent in the region indicated that the airstrikes were concentrated on densely populated areas in the town.
In other news, two civilians were killed and 15 wounded as a result of a series of indiscriminate Assad-regime airstrikes on the city of Al Mayadin in the morning. A local source in the city said that cluster bombs were utilized during the air raids which targeted the residential buildings in the city.
Air strikes were also conducted on the village of Hathla causing material damages only.
These series of violent airstrikes came after the international coalition struck the positions of Assad forces in the vicinity of the military airport of Deir Ezzor which led to the death of dozens of them. Daesh has also advanced against the regime on several fronts around the airport and also succeeded in bringing down a regime fighter jet in the city of Deir Ezzor yesterday.
