During the past two days,Deir Ezzor witnessed a series of security incidents that raised fears among residents due to the spread of weapons and the increasing security chaos.
Our reporter said that a person named “Abdul Majeed Ayed Al-Kharfan” was killed by another person named “Aboud Al-Abdoun” yesterday in Al-Joura neighborhood in Deir Ezzor City, following a quarrel between them that developed into the use of weapons. Another person was also killed as a result of gunfire from an unknown gunman riding a motorcycle.
He added that another painful incident occurred in Al-Joura neighborhood yesterday, where seven children were injured with varying degrees of severity as a result of the explosion of a hand grenade they were playing with, in a scene that reflects the dangers of the spread of uncontrolled weapons among civilians.
These incidents were preceded by an incident that angered the people of Deir Ezzor, after a thief broke into a house in the Al-Jubaila neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, and when he was pursued by the security forces, he threw a hand grenade that led to his death and the death of a girl named “Salam Malik Al-Ubaid” and the injury of her mother and grandmother. According to a reporter of the DeirEzzor24 the thief’s name is “Khaled Al-Adwan”, and he was under the influence of drugs when he committed the incident. It is noteworthy that the spread of weapons and security chaos has become a clear threat to the lives of civilians in Deir Ezzor, which calls for the responsible authorities to take serious measures to limit this escalating phenomenon.
