Deir Ezzor 24 exclusive:
Deir Ezzor 24 network obtained accurate information about the tension between the National Defense Militia and the Iranian militias in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, particularly the recent tension between the two parties in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
Informed sources confirmed to the network that elements of the National Defence Militia are still defecting from the militia, joining the Revolutionary Guard militia in Deir Ezzor as they have not been paid for months.
The sources noted that the National Defense Militia informed its elements in Deir Ezzor that it will pay their salaries in a few days. This decision of the National Defense came as an attempt to reduce the defections from its ranks.
The National Defense Militia called on the Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor to press the Iranians to hand over the defectors and the checkpoints they have seized, especially in Al-Mayadeen city.
The Iranian militias, in turn, refused to hand over the elements who have recently joined them, declaring that they are now part of their forces and that no one is allowed to take them back.
The Iranian militias are seeking to attract the National Defense militia elements to gather as many young men as possible.
It is noteworthy that Iran has recruited hundreds of young men in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside since October 2017, exploiting the poverty among the population.
