After heavy clashes with Assad’s forces, Daesh captured several key positions belonging to the Assad regime in both, the Muwadafine neighborhood and the mountain overlooking Deir Ezzor city. The advances were made after the launching of a large-scale attack on the Rushdiya and the Muwadafine neighborhoods, as well as the mountain, the Ruwad hill west of the city and the Panorama Checkpoint south of it.
Fierce battles are still raging on multiple fronts to the very moment, with casualties from both parties and the capturing of a number of Assad’s forces on the Panorama front by the organization.
In response to the new Daesh’s advancement in Deir Ezzor city, the regime warplanes carried out heavy airstrikes on the Rushdiya, Humeidiya and Jabila neighborhoods, as well as the Bughayliya town, the vicinity of the Panorama and the military airport.
This is the biggest attack by Daesh on the regime held areas in Deir Ezzor since the offensive which was launched two months ago, during which the organization captured the Panorama Checkpoint, the Assad Hospital and the Campus and was forced to retreat from them in a later time.
