On Sunday, December 13, 2020, heavy gunfire took place in the city of al-Bussairah, eastern Deir Ezzor
The reason for the gunfire is a Daesh group’s clashing with people as the group targeted a civilian’s house. The civilian refused to pay the group money under al-Zakat.
Over last week, Daesh demanded ten people in al-Bussairah and its perimeter to pay al-Zakat. Daesh threatened to kill those who refuse to pay.
Shootings and bomb explosions occurred in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, targeting the houses of civilians whom Daesh demanded to pay al-Zakat. Doctors whom Daesh forced to pay al-Zakat left Deir Ezzor fearing for their lives.
