Jassim and Sami Awad Eid al-Jabbar, from Al-Baghuz town eastern Deir Ezzor, were injured when Assad’s forces shot them while they were fishing near Al-Baghuz.

A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that members of Assad’s forces, stationed in military posts on the Euphrates River bank in Al-Syal town in the al-Bukamal countryside, shot the two young men while they were fishing in the Euphrates River, which led to their injury and were taken to al-Qaisoum hospital in Hajin city.

The source confirmed, that this is not the first time that Assad forces have targeted fishermen, as two days ago, they kidnapped two young men from Hajin city, and demanded their families a high ransom, and before that, they shot fishermen from al-Sussah town, which resulted in the injury of one of them.

These practices coincide with attacks by Assad’s forces and Iranian militias against the SDF with the aim of destabilizing the security of the region and creating a state of chaos and insecurity in the areas out of their control.
