A group of doctors, technicians and administrators at Jedid Bakkara hospital announced their strike to protest a verbal attack carried out by a group of young men against the hospital staff yesterday, Friday 18-10-2019, local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.

According to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent, a group of villagers came to the hospital with a critical case, and started cursing nurses and technicians, and beat a guards of the hospital, which pushed the doctors, nurses, technicians and administrators in the hospital to announce a strike until such repeated attacks never happen again.

It is worth mentioning that “Jedid Bakkara” hospital provides its services to civilians for free, as it used to receive financial support from several humanitarian organizations which stopped their support several months ago, but the doctors took it upon themselves to continue working within the existing possibilities until the necessary support is provided.
