Grain prices experienced a noticeable decrease in the areas controlled by Assad and the SDF in Deir Ezzor province due to the farmers’ reluctance to use rain-fed agriculture.
The farmers’ reluctance to use rainfed agriculture is due to signs of drought and rain retention, as well as the lack of cash, which makes the needs of agriculture and plowing a burden that increases their suffering in light of the current deteriorating living conditions.
The price of wheat today reached1,100 SYP, after it had reached 2,200, while the price of barley decreased from 1,500 to 1,250 SYP.
